SMART Technologies Hiring for Senior Software Test Developer (D292) at Calgary, AB Full Time

In this role you are a key member of our software test team, responsible for complex components and their integration across our back end web infrastructure. Your initial focus will be test planning, design, execution, and automation for our identify, entitlement and authentication components, which underpin both the services we offer and the revenue we generate.

The successful candidate will quickly demonstrate a test ownership mindset while working closely with stakeholders including designers, developers, product managers and customer support. You will work with the test and development teams on the choices of tools and technologies to enhance testing and test automation. The ideal candidate will be familiar with API testing, identity, and account management, SSO integration scenarios and entitlement management.

Duties and Responsibilities

Collaborating with your project team to determine test requirements

Working with program management to translate requirements into testable designs

Providing leadership in agile scrum and planning processes

Designing and executing stress, performance, scalability, and other non-functional tests

Exploratory testing for individual components or features; finding and reporting defects

Communicating and summarizing status to stakeholders

Providing thought leadership and coaching to the testing team and ensure best proven test practices are observed across the team

Working with other test leaders to innovate and improve how the team performs

Education and work experience

Dedication to software test as a craft

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Degree in computer science, software engineering or related disciplines

Experience in software testing

Some experience as a test lead or prime on a major product

Demonstrated experience with at least some of the following technologies:

Scripting languages (particularly Python)

Testing tools such as Postman or API tools and performance tools like Gatling

General automation, tool, and development skills

Continuous integration systems such as TeamCity

Experience with API and integration testing
