Based in Byron Bay, we are seeking an ambitious graduate accountant to be a part of our finance team in a full time position. The suitable candidate will also be offered assistance towards their further studies (CA).

We are a successful Energy start-up, transitioning into a dynamic medium sized Renewable Energy Retailer seeking to appoint a Graduate Accountant to assist as we continue to expand. We provide and facilitate a variety of services within the renewable energy space such as solar and battery installations with aspirations to introduce new product lines further down the track.

The Job:

Reporting to the Management Accountant, the successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to):

• Reconciliation of general ledger accounts
• Data analysis
• Assisting with annual budget and forecasting processes
• Assisting with reviewing expenses
• Engaging in business improvement initiatives and other projects as required
• Supporting the finance team in the preparation of month end management and board reports
• Posting and processing journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded accurately
• Assisting senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings

The successful applicant will have:

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline – preferably with a major in accounting however we are open to finance and economics graduates
• Prior experience in a similar role is desirable but not required
• Computer literacy skills with a sound knowledge of excel or google sheets
• The ability to work autonomously and self-sufficiently
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Great attention to detail
• The ability to thrive in a fast paced startup environment
