Small Space Plus is Canada’s leader in providing innovative, multi-functional furniture for small space living. We are a fast growing company looking to transform the furniture industry and need a web graphic and product/industrial designer this summer to join the journey.

We’re looking for driven people with a passion for creativity and impacting consumers’ everyday lives. This individual will report directly to the founders.

OVERVIEW

We are looking for a candidate who’s able to fulfil two types of roles – Graphic Design & Product / Industrial Design – but are open to applicants who are only able to partially fulfil these tasks. Key projects are as follows.

• Work with the team to design new furniture products that will proceed to manufacturing.
• Work with the E-Commerce Manager to improve the UI / UX of our online store.
• Design web assets (room scenes, banners, content, display ads, etc.) for our online store, social, and other communication channels, based on our pre-established brand book & style guide.
• Photograph our products in the showroom (professional-style photography experience and ownership of a DSLR camera are preferred).
• Mockup products in-situ for clients in their homes.
• Contribute to the interior design of a new showroom.

MANDATORIES

• Must start by July 24th, 2022 and end by September 3rd, 2022.
• Full-time schedule during this period.
• Must be able to come to our location regularly (126 Tycos Drive, near Yorkdale), with partial remote work schedule TBD.
• Hourly wage is firm ($18/hr).

• A high-quality portfolio with professional work examples.
• Graphic design software expertise.
• Product / industrial design software access & expertise.

DESIRED SKILLS

• Excellent project management skills with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks from concept through implementation and deliver quality outcomes on time and on budget.
• 2 to 5 years’ experience producing work for professional businesses.
• Strengths in: conceptual thinking, layout, colour, illustration, photo editing, photography, 3D design & videography.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• An openness to giving and receiving feedback to better yourself as a designer and better the team.
• Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced multi-project environment
• A receptive attitude to creative direction and adapt to a multitude of changes.
• Must be a self-starter with excellent attention to detail, organizational, communication, and project management skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ensures the integrity of all creative is maintained according to brand guideline and standards.

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Salary: $18.00 per hour
