SKYTRAC Hiring for Technical Program Manager at Ottawa, ON Full Time

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Technical Program Manager works closely with software engineers, data scientists, hardware engineers, product management, and the test team to deliver high quality products and services on time and on budget. This position reports to the Director, Program Management and is accountable for the day-to-day execution of all assigned project activities.

A typical day includes:

• Lead communications between internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of customer contracts and key product developments
• Drive project requirements, manage project scope and facilitate baseline change management processes
• Develop and manage work breakdown structures, project schedules, and project budgets
• Manage cross functional teams in multiple locations
• Ensure compliance on processes, procedures and work with the Quality Assurance department to evolve existing processes as required
• Manage, communicate and escalate project risks
• Knowledge of DO160, DO178 and DO254 Standards
• Familiar and experienced in project lifecycle process such as PDR, CDR, Qualification and Certification
• Influence project team members without having any hierarchical authority through effective listening, understanding, prioritizing, and working towards common goals
• Challenge Engineering and Production functional leaders on technical recommendations, delivery schedules and costs to maximize value for the business on each project
• Work with third party vendors to complete projects as required
• Ensure accurate inputs are submitted on commercial tender submissions
• Provide technical sales support and act as a key point of contact to customers on complex installations

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong verbal and written English communication skills
• Proven technical leadership abilities
• Superior conflict resolution skills, with the ability to relate professionally to all stakeholders

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• 10 years of relevant experience with at least 5 years in a similar management role
• Relevant degree (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering)
• Strong background and experience in an Aerospace environment
• Equivalent Program/Project Management experience
