The Skokomish Indian Tribe is seeking to hire an Education Director. The incumbent is responsible for administering the Tribal Education Department. The position provides assistance to individual tribal members and students in education programs and students K-12 seeking to reach their educational goals. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with staff, departments, community and representatives of federal, state, local, and other agencies to address issues such as absenteeism, progress of Washington State education standards of students in grades K-12, and negotiations of memorandums, agreements, and contracts. Develops and recommends short term and long-term objectives for curriculum development, evaluation, and improvement consistent with the educational and cultural needs. Prepares professionally written reports on departmental activities and statistical data for the CEO, Tribal Council and General Body. Master’s Degree in Education, teaching or directly related field of study. Five years educational management and supervisory experience. Highly skilled in maintaining confidentiality of information with demonstrated experience implementing a reporting system throughout the department. Minimum of five (5) years’ supervisory and management experience preferred. Experience in program and project evaluation, program development, and assessment, preferred.
