Skip is in the business of connecting food and coffee lovers with the best hospitality businesses around Australia. Our goal is to create engaging experience for users to to discover and connect with food and coffee in their local area while also saving them time and providing a convenient method to order and pay. For our Merchants, we aim to improve efficiency, streamline processes, increase market reach and grow their business. Skip is a much loved, Australian owned and run business which started in Melbourne over seven years ago with over 1.5m consumers and thousands of merchants Australia-wide.

Objective of the Business Consultant Role

1. To drive a sustainable and ongoing increase in merchant account trading with Skip from a portfolio of assigned accounts.
2. Onboard new merchants from the New Business team ensuring they are setup effectively and use the Skip platform, meeting minimum weekly Gross Order Revenue targets.
3. Upsell Skip product and services to existing Merchants
4. Sign-up new Skip trading merchants from your network of contacts and referrals.
5. Optimise merchant’s utilisation of Skip and help support their successful use of the Skip platform
6. Support marketing at a venue by engaging with consumers, handing out Skip vouchers and encouraging them to use Skip.

Portfolio

Each Business Consultant is assigned a portfolio of existing Skip Merchants to manage. This may include high value, medium value or low value Merchants. Each portfolio is reviewed at least quarterly and the company may add or subtract merchants from any portfolio. 

What are the Success Measures of an Business Consultant?

1.    Achieving or exceeding a growth target on your assigned portfolio (as defined by the company)

2.    Minimising churn of existing Merchants

3.    Achieving growth through upselling Skip products and services to existing Merchants.

4.    Successfully onboarding and growing new Merchants added to your portfolio from the New Business team.

5.    Upselling table ordering to existing Merchants, as well as POS integration and ‘self-delivery’ where possible

6.    Selling Skip to new Merchants, including those referred to you from your existing network.

7.    Achieving minimum weekly activity targets on a consistent basis.

Skills required for the role

• Minimum 2 -8 years Business Consulting, Account Management or Sales experience, preferably in the hospitality or software industry.
• Is service orientated, responding to enquiries quickly and effectively.
• Has demonstrated capability in building relationships with a diverse group of people.
• Is a self-starter who likes to consistently achieve targets and goals
• Has strong communication skills, verbally and written
• Likes to share their skills and knowledge with others
• Is technically orientated, believes that software adds value to our lives
• Is highly organised with ability to handle multiple activities and takes any challenge in your stride
• Is resilient, handles objections and can navigate through commercial barriers to achieve outcomes and targets
• Is an enthusiastic team player who motivates those around you.
• Has a ‘glass half full’ outlook on life, people like working and hanging with you
• Can interpret data and information and distil it down to easily understandable insights.
