Finance Assistant (Procurement)

ABOUT THE ROLE:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Finance Assistant to support the Group Procurement Accountant in upholding balance sheet control, whilst tracking Procurement savings. You will assist in the process of converting rebate initiatives into realised cash by controlling each step of the cycle; recording new rebate agreements in a tracking spreadsheet, accounting for the P&L impacts, truing up for actual volumes, raising invoices, chasing debt and reconciling balance sheets. This role will cover both 2SFG and the wider BPO Group.

You will also be responsible for:

• Prepare accurate balance sheet reconciliations for month-end sign-off
• Prepare & post month end & other adhoc journals, when required
• Assist in the updating & reconciling of rebate trackers so as to enable accurate divisional/site reporting
• Assist in the reconciliation of Suppliers & cash collection process of reported rebates, VAVE etc
• Prepare month end reporting file, to include all journals & balance sheet reconciliations for monthly sign-off
• Assist with any other duties require by the team

• Studying towards appropriate qualification (AAT or equivalent) / QBE
• Familiar with large ERP systems
• Advanced excel skills
• Works very well in a team environment and can influence others to the correct course of action
• Good communication skills, comfortable dealing with finance & non-finance colleagues
• Demonstrates strong analytical skills and is able to balance the need for analysis and rigour with speed of action when solving problem
