Position Summary
The QA associate internship employee will work closely with the development team and Product managers to create and execute manual testing to deliver new features and bug fixes on a large and complex portfolio management system. The right candidate will have the desire to learn QA best practices and functions such as creating test plans and test cases, executing test cases, and reviewing regression results in order to quickly determine if our products are ready for market. QA team members work very closely with developers, doc writers, Product Managers and Engineering Management on an integrated team dedicated to delivering high quality solutions, and the right candidate will enjoy being part of a highly interactive agile team.
Essential Functions:

• Work closely with a mentor assigned to learn the practices and policies of the engineering team
• Participate in sprint testing and regression (pre-production). Establish the purpose and deliverables of the test effort. Develop and implement test plans/cases
• Work collaboratively with development team to devise a test plan for jira stories
• Report defects and proactively identify risks to management
• Debug and troubleshoot issues to help provide root cause analysis
• Gain Knowledge of the software development lifecycles

Knowledge and Skills:

• Ability to interact and communicate successfully with Product Managers and technology teams using tools such as Zoom, Slack and email
• A desire to understand and leverage new tools and technologies
• Good attention to detail
• Experience with web services preferred
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies is a plus
