THE ROLE

We are looking for a Finance Officer – Treasury to provide financial reconciliations, daily banking reconciliations.

With Certificate level tertiary qualifications in business, accounting, finance or a related discipline, you will be experienced in banking, credit card reconciliation and preparation of monthly reports. You will be able to demonstrate excellent computer literacy including keyboard skills and knowledge of spreadsheets. You will also be able to demonstrate excellent customer service and the ability to work within a team environment, including providing support to other roles as required.

A working knowledge of Local Government accounting processes and experience with corporate software applications will be well regarded.

You will be responsible for:

• Preparing Council’s banking, including undertaking daily bank reconciliations to subsidiary and general ledgers and process direct bank transfers and point of sale receipts allocated to the bank account
• Reconciling Council’s Corporate Credit Card system on a monthly basis
• Providing assistance in the provision of Financial and Accounting services including:-
  • Maintenance and reconciliation of Subsidiary and General Ledger accounts, including setting up new accounts and processing General Journals
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly Operational Plan and Budget reviews and financial reports
  • Undertake projects with financial modelling in spreadsheets to enable information to be presented in management reports
• Assisting with preparation and gathering of fleet records for annual Fringe Benefit Tax Return
• Assisting with preparation of monthly returns including reconciliation of GST and Business Activity Statement
• Preparation of the weekly cash flow report
• Responding to customer enquires in a timely, friendly and professional manner
• Ensuring daily record management is maintained consistent to Council’s Information Management (Recordkeeping) Policy

This position is offered on a permanent, full-time basis working 35 hours per week.

Remuneration for this position is based on 8 of the salary system which equates to a base salary between $61,759 to $69,472 per annum plus superannuation.
