Job Description

This is a remote position.

A software developer designs, develops, tests, and maintains software applications, systems, or products. They work closely with other members of the development team, including project managers, designers, and quality assurance testers, to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet client or user requirements.

• Software Development : Designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting software applications or systems according to specifications.
• Collaboration : Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements, define project objectives, and ensure successful project delivery.
• Problem Solving : Identifying and troubleshooting software defects, performance issues, and other technical problems.
• Version Control : Utilizing version control systems (e.g., Git) to manage source code and collaborate with other developers.
• Quality Assurance : Participating in code reviews, writing unit tests, and ensuring software quality through continuous integration and testing practices.
• Documentation : Writing technical documentation, including software design documents, user manuals, and release notes.
• Learning and Development : Keeping up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously improve technical skills and knowledge.
• Customer Support : Providing technical support to users or clients, addressing inquiries, and troubleshooting issues as needed.
• Project Management : Managing project timelines, tasks, and deliverables, and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Security : Implementing security best practices and protocols to protect software systems from vulnerabilities and cyber threats.

Requirements

Qualifications :

• Education : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Some positions may require a Master’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Technical Skills : Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, or JavaScript, as well as knowledge of software development frameworks, libraries, and tools.
• Problem-Solving Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug complex issues and implement effective solutions.
• Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Teamwork : Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, sharing knowledge and expertise to achieve common goals.
• Adaptability : Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements, technologies, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to Detail : Meticulous attention to detail, with a focus on writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Experience : Previous experience in software development, either through internships, co-op programs, or professional work experience, is typically preferred.

Additional Skills (Preferred but not Required) :

• Experience with specific technologies or platforms relevant to the job (e.g., web development frameworks like React.js or Angular, mobile app development platforms like iOS or Android).
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello).
• Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of software engineering best practices such as design patterns, SOLID principles, and continuous integration / continuous delivery (CI / CD).
• Certification in relevant technologies or programming languages.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• One year of experience in a Virtual Assistant role
• Familiarity with latest workplace technologies, including VoIP, online calendars and desktop sharing
• Working knowledge of spreadsheet and word-processing program
• Excellent multitasking, time management and organizational skills
• Ability to work with minimum supervision
• Must have a PC and reliable Internet connection
