ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: These are primarily job duties that must be performed unassisted. Responsible for assisting with the following.
1. All general accounting functions including chart of accounts, the billing process, cash receipts and accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank reconciliations and client trust funds.
2. Monitors unbilled time and disbursements, and time entry.
3. Insures the maintenance of accounting files and retention.
4. Trust accounting for retainers, debtor payments, etc.
5. Provides cash flow reporting on a daily basis to Managing Member.
6. Performs credit card reconciliations of client expense charges.
7. Maintains Positive Pay for General Account including daily checklist reporting to bank and vigilance of exceptions.
8. Perform collection activity for receivables.
9. Codes payables for proper GL account and proper cost center.
10. Enters payables into system. Performs check runs based on payment criteria (i.e. when client pays the bill).
11. Answers attorney requests for reports, etc.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
1. Advanced knowledge of accounting and financial management principles.
2. Approximately 10 years of progressively responsible related work experience.
3. Ability to demonstrate impeccable integrity in fiduciary matters.
4. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate with a diverse group of attorneys and staff and provide information with ordinary courtesy.
5. Exceptional focus and attention to detail with high level accuracy.
6. Methodical working style to ensure duties are done correctly and completely.
7. Ability to perform essential duties of the position within deadlines.
8. Proficiency in computer and accounting software, typing and data entry skills.’
