Who We Are

The Office for Aboriginal Peoples was established in 2009 and its mandate is to take the lead on implementing the Aboriginal Strategic Plan at Simon Fraser University. It also leads projects and initiatives which support Indigenous faculty, staff and students, and which advance Truth and Reconciliation at the university.

About the Role

Working with and for the on-campus Indigenous communities in a variety of ways, this dynamic role acts in a reception and greeting role for the Office for Aboriginal Peoples. They are a key member of the office team, providing administrative support for the Office for Aboriginal Peoples and its staff. They also prepare and disseminate communication on behalf of the Director and other administrative staff, coordinate and schedule their time, help with budget and expenses, support committees and support projects, as required.
