The opportunity

The Logistics Manager will have overall responsibility for all inbound and outbound products, components, materials, and storage for Silk Road Medical’s facilities.

This role will be responsible for the management of all Silk Road Medical sites and the logistics teams at each site.

This is an on-site position.

A “Day in the life”

• Manage all in-bound and out-bound component and material-related activities. This includes receiving, material movements, storage, and transfers including VMI programs, Work Orders, NCMR’s, material dispositions.
• Manage all inbound and outbound product distribution to customers and field personnel. This includes all product returns and complaints.
• Document and maintain department procedures and ensure compliance.
• Offer new ideas and suggestions for process and storage improvements. Gains cross functional consensus and coordinates implementation of improvements.
• Manage all materials and logistics data input into MRP / ERP systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Work with cross-functional teams including Production, Purchasing, Quality, and Customer Service to ensure best practices for material and product storage, issuance, distribution, and control.
• Establish stock levels in accordance with the forecasted build plan and usage rates.
• Hire, train, and deploy personnel as needed to ensure goals are met.
• Communicate with all departments any shortages and proactively initiates programs to prevent recurrence.
• Manage inventory cycle count program and ensures accurate record keeping.
• Work closely with the Finance on effective inventory record-keeping to ensure compliance.
• Manage Year-End Inventory and work with auditors to ensure compliance.
• Oversee third party logistic providers and transportation companies to ensure rates and service levels are met.
• Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Leadership :

Establishes strategic goals by gathering pertinent business, financial, service, and operations information; identifying and evaluating trends and options;

choosing a course of action; defining objectives; evaluating outcomes.

• Actively promotes and leads organization to adhere to SRM Employment / Safety policies and procedures. Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing and maintaining an annual budget.
• Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring including staff development and training.

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain or a related field is preferred or comparable work experience.
• 7+ years of practical work experience in supply chain, manufacturing operations, materials, or logistics.
• 3+ years of management expereince.
• Experience in the medical industry or other highly regulated industry required.
• Purchasing experience is preferred.

Additional skills you have

• Proven track record of recruiting, hiring and building a multi-location team.
• In depth knowledge of inventory management, materials planning, materials warehousing and ERP systems.
• Understanding of International Shipping including customs broker experience.
• Demonstrated work history of cross-functional project management.
• Proficient user of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Strong analytical and problem resolution capabilities.
• Demonstrate sense of urgency with respect to achieving on-time delivery and quality goals.
• Ability to work well under pressure and to meet multiple and occasional competing deadlines.
• Must be highly organized and able to execute tasks in a timely manner.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Be punctual and adhere to company policies.
• Works in accordance with current Good Documentation Practices (cGDP).
• Occasional travel to Sunnyvale, California
