• Plant Human Resources Manager located in Lyons, NY*

Silgan Containers is seeking a Plant HR Manager to act as an internal consultant to plant management, ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of Human Resources services to employees at our plant in Lyons, New York. This position will manage the HR functions in conjunction with corporate policies/guidelines and state and federal laws, provide management with guidance on decisions affecting day-to-day employee management issue. Key responsibilities include, talent acquisition, employee relations, contract administration, grievance administration, legal compliance and other HR related work.*
The ideal candidate will build collaborative relationships in support of business objectives, identify opportunities to engage effectively with management, demonstrate HR values and ensure commitments to plant initiatives are met while maintaining a high sense of integrity, urgency, and confidentiality. Will participate, develop, recommend and deploy strategies and programs to facilitate a positive employee experience, including labor negotiations and administration of collective bargaining agreements.

• Knowledge of employment, labor, wage and hour laws, including FMLA/ADA, EEOC, AA, ADA, FLSA, etc.
• Experience with recruitment, onboarding and managing personnel files
• Excellent computer skills. Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
• Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills required; ability to multi-task and prioritize is critical for success
• Ability to demonstrate discretion and business ethics
• Ability to operate with integrity and fairness
• Ability to establish trust and credibility with employees at all levels in the organization

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration or related field; will consider related military experience in lieu of degree
• 3+ years of progressive HR experience; experience as in a unionized manufacturing environment preferred
