Signet Hiring for Finance Assistant Job at Peterborough, England Full Time

We are currently seeking a part-time Finance Assistant to join our well-established, family-run SME based in Peterborough. You will be responsible for supporting the Finance Manager the daily running of the finance function in our dynamic, growing business. You will need to be passionate about detail and accuracy while enjoying regular bookkeeping activities.

Established in 1994, Signet specialises in luxury packaging design and enhancement. We offer a wide range of artisan decorations that evoke a profound connection with the consumer, exuding distinctive character and elevating your product to new heights.

In this role you will:

• Create and send sales invoices
• Complete daily input of purchase ledger invoices, ensuring correct costings and nominal posting
• Complete daily posting of bank payments and receipts to the system
• Process expense claims monthly, or as required
• Issue statements and payment reminders to customers
• Issue remittances to suppliers for payments made
• Chase overdue debts, by email and telephone
• Attend Budget meetings with the Finance Manager and the budget holder.

It is essential that you bring:

• Relevant accounting/bookkeeping qualification (A Level Accounts, AAT, ACCA etc.), or equivalent experience
• Experience of working as a Finance Assistant or similar in a commercial business
• Great organisation skills and attention to detail
• Agility and able to work quickly

• GCSE Maths and English grade ‘c’ or above, or equivalent.
