Sightline is based in Kanata, Ontario, Canada and has sales and service staff based in the United States, and across Europe as well.

Summary about the position

Sightline Customer success engineers are responsible for providing applications, technical, and service support for Sightline systems. This position reports to the Customer Success Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide customer and sales team technical support through the order process

• Project tracking throughout order process – Record, track progress and escalate application issues

• Collaborate with the various teams to ensure that problems are resolved effectively and efficiently

• Coordination of installation with internal or external installation team, technical support throughout the installation

• Provide installation and training to customers, distributors, and sales staff

• Execute deep troubleshooting and drive resolution of customer issues as quickly as possible post install until customer is ready to hand off to regular support team ( 3-4 months)

• Provide insightful suggestions for improvements and enhancements that can be executed by product and development teams

• Assist remote support team with more difficult support issues

• Documentation to improve remote support success on unique applications

• Assist with various application testing activities and internal projects as needed

• Travel 30-40%

Work Environment:

Employee will be working in a manufacturing environment. Employee’s tasks may require repetitive use of small hand tools, computers and analytical equipment as well as light to moderate lifting. All lifting over 50 lbs will be done with mechanical lifting equipment (gantry crane, pallet jack) or by teams of 2 or more people.

Employee tasks may require extended periods of sitting, standing, walking and walking up and down stairs.

Typical customer site activities will be in food processing plants, where personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required while on-site. While performing customer on-site visits, the employee is regularly required to: stand, sit, talk, hear, climb ladders and cat-walks, and use hands and fingers to operate computers and analytical equipment.

Education and Experience Required:

• 5+ year’s Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset
• Engineering Degree required (Mechanical or Electrical preferred)

• Technical background related to vision equipment or other automated equipment an asset

• Project management experience an asset

• Accountability and personal organization are essential

• Excellent communication skills required

• Service experience troubleshooting and repairing electronics equipment is an asset

Salary: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
