If you like solving complex FP&A problems using your deep analytical skills, this is the opportunity for you! As a Tax Accountant you will support our Business Operations by providing analytics and oversight of financials, tax provisions, and tax compliance. You’ll perform tasks under limited supervision such as reviewing the tax budget and forecasting process, reconciling and maintaining tax records, and compliance function with federal and state government bodies. You will also develop and work closely with other teams at SNC including, treasury, legal, finance, and accounting.

A successful candidate will operate well within a positive team environment, utilize technology to gather transaction facts, review invoices for sales/use tax compliance on a multi-state basis, and interact with company representatives about sales and use tax matters.

Must Haves:

• A Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or a related field and 6 years or more of related work experience.
• Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
• Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
• Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and prepare financial reports and/or projections

Preferred:

• Familiarity with Profit and Loss statements
• Experience with indirect rate composition
• Knowledge of DoD, government contracting and/or public auditing, policies, standards, and procedures
• Ability to engage in open and honest collaboration with team members to meet deadlines;
• Have strong problem solving skills
• Advanced level skills in excel

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of sales and use tax returns
• Resolving sales and use tax notices
• Business license filings
• Prepare journal entries and check requests
• Exemption certificate management
• Unclaimed property filings
• Property tax filings as needed
• Provide support to P2P groups with sales tax related matters
• Identify tax discrepancies and assist with process improvement
