This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be responsible for :

• Leading the development of software and system features as a key technical contributor
• Implementing a consistent architecture by establishing and following best practices, and utilizing novel software technologies
• Thoroughly understanding system performance requirements, developing architectures and solutions, providing rationales, and demonstrating results
• Contributing to the planning and prioritization of software engineering activities
• Authoring software requirements documents, design specifications, and software test protocols
• Defining scope of work and managing the technical output of external partners
• Solving advanced technical problems efficiently using a pragmatic approach; determining and correcting root-cause

This position may suit you best if you would like to develop your career with Healthineers, and have the following skills and experience :

• Strong knowledge of software architecture and interface design, including software as a part of high-reliability, high-availability HW / SW medical device systems
• Strong skills in Object-Oriented Design and Analysis, with the use of UML
• Strong experience with an RTOS, such as QNX, VxWorks, or other OS such as Windows and Linux
• Experience developing software for embedded devices
• Experience with implementing protocols such as TCP / IP, UDP, CAN, USB
• Experience working in an Agile development team
• Experience in leading teams of engineers in complex projects comprising both internal and external resources

Skills & education required for success in this role

• BS or MS Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or other related technical area
• 10+ years of experience designing and developing complex software for medical devices
• Experience in partitioning and decomposing complex problems into solutions
• Strong skills in multi-threaded, soft or hard real-time software development
• Strong C++ skills
• Willingness to travel up to 10%
