We have a fantastic opportunity for a HR Advisor to join the Smart Infrastructure Field People & Organisation team (previously known as HR). You will be responsible for providing a professional, consistent and effective employee relations advice service to employees and line managers, ensuring delivery against a defined set of service levels. You will act as an Employee Relations expert within our team, supporting customers and colleagues with policy, employment law and complex, high risk employee relations issues.
We are looking for someone with solid knowledge in employment law and employee relations topics and experience in guiding and coaching.
This role will be home based with requirements to travel to the office only occasionally to attend meetings and support projects and cases at our various sites across the UK.
What are your responsibilities
Provide a dedicated Employee Relations service, in relation to absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievance matters, organisational change (including but not limited to restructuring and TUPE) and a range of employment and employee relations matters ranging from low to high risk levels.
Provide coaching, advice and guidance to managers, to develop our manager capability and upskilling in Employee Relation topics. To own cases to their conclusion, including attendance at meetings remotely and on occasion in person where face to face support is required.
Undertake job evaluations and benchmarking both at individual employee and project level. Support P&O Business Partners and Senior P&O Advisors as required on small to large scale projects including M&A, TUPE projects, restructures (including provision of redundancy calculations), job evaluations and benchmarking projects.
Participate in review and improvement of processes and delivery mechanisms
Establish excellent relationships and build partnerships with customers and P&O BP’s
Work in a way that develops team working, and act in a partnership environment with business partners and customers to deliver efficient and effective support.
Keep up to date with developments in employment legislation and human resources best practice, knowledge sharing within the team to ensure continuous development and improvement in the service offered.
Act as a coach and mentor with enquiries.
What do you need to qualify for this role
Experience of working in a customer focused ER advice and guidance team, providing advice to managers on complex and high risk cases, CIPD qualified or working towards this.
Knowledge of current and future employment legislation including implications of TUPE and HR policies
Experience of providing employee relations advice and guidance over the phone/remotely and by email
Ability to coach and mentor customers and team members
Experience of HR systems and MS applications (Teams, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
The ability to travel when required to attend meetings and support projects and cases at our various sites across the UK
