Electrification & Automation

The Electrification & Automation (E&A) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing in our Future Grids portfolio to create the power distribution grid of the future.

We are looking for a Busbar Machine Operator. This position will be based in Wendell, NC.

Responsible for operation, proving programs, operating controls, setting all machine functions, deburring and inspection of parts to assure conformance will be required.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Set up tools in machines according to requirements, adjust as required.
• Perform all tasks assigned for bus machine setup and operation, and inspection of finished products, and document results.
• Work from drawings and sketches, read and understand manuals/specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished products, sequence of operations and set up requirements.
• Detect equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjusts machine within capabilities. all machine malfunctions to Supervisor. Detect and defective materials or questionable conditions to Supervisor.
• Calculate bar sizes, bend locations, and tooling for each part being formed
• Communicate with management, production control, quality and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.
• Communicate all production related items to next shift operators or shift supervisors

• Must be able to work independently and meet a planned fabrication schedule;
• Responsible for operation, proving programs, operating controls, setting all machine functions, deburring and inspection of parts to assure conformance will be required;
• Ability to calculate, blank sizes, bend locations, for each part being formed;
• Must be able to work from drawings and sketches, read and understand manuals/specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished products, sequence of operations and set up requirements;
• Ability to accurately and completely fill out necessary paperwork according to established standards;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and produce a quality product;
• Basic computer navigation skills;
• Capable of work standing for long periods of time;
• Bending, lifting and pushing up to 50 pounds is required;

• The pay for this position is $22.46. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
