Siemens Energy Hiring for Finance & Controlling Intern – Transmission Job at Manchester, England Full Time

We are currently recruiting for a Finance & Controlling Intern to join our team based in South Manchester, reporting directly to the Head of Business Controlling for the High Voltage Grids business unit of Siemens Energy Transmission. The business delivers major infrastructure projects that connect Offshore Windfarms and HVDC Interconnector links to the National Grid. The Business Controlling team is a central function that supports the operational businesses, projects and functions with all finance, commercial, accounting, reporting and controlling requirements. This is a fantastic opportunity where the role holder will work in close co-operation with the wider finance, commercial and management teams.

You will play a meaningful role in making our business future ready, by supporting our Finance and Controlling Team in their initiatives.

• Support Finance team with Month end closing activities including: Monthly Cost centre controlling and reporting; Analysis of monthly KPI’s actual vs. plan vs. forecasting
• Work closely with colleagues and other departments within Finance to ensure a complete picture of the business is understood for forecasting and reporting purposes
• Focus on continuous process automation to maximize the departments deliverables to the Business Units supported and internal stakeholders
• Help improve the efficiency of our company through process optimization, intelligent data analysis / visualization and use of process automation.
• Administration of Purchase Ledger for Business Areas (clearance of workflow, parked/blocked invoice reports, correcting posting errors)
• Close liaison with other departments and relationship building with internal customers
• Support annual cost centre planning
• Manage team meetings including, preparing Agendas, collecting information from the team and preparation of management slide packs

What you need to help us Energize Society

• Studying towards or have completed a degree in a data analytical or business/finance related subject area, with a demonstrable passion for digitalisation & data in a finance context.
• Experience of working in a finance department would be advantageous but not essential.
• If you already gained insights into data models, coding (SQL) or data visualization (Tableau) and automation it would be considered an advantage.
• Enjoy working independently, safely and responsibly; take ownership of challenges and ideas and are looking to develop your ability to drive and lead change
• Energized by collaborating with others to find innovative solutions.
• Previous experience of SAP & MS Office would be advantageous
• Be comfortable communicating with people at different levels
• You think logically, are willing to self-learn and research and take a creative approach to problem solving
