Shuswap Association for Community Living Hiring for Community Support Worker Full Time

We’re hiring!! We are in need of a workers in various positions from permanent full time to, permanent part time worker to fill a position Saturday-Sunday 1630-2230 and Monday 1430-2230 and casual workers. Employees can make themselves available for other shifts and top up to 37.5 hours per week. There are frequent job postings for other opportunities. After three months in a regular position, our staff are eligible for Extended Health and Welfare Benefits as well as a Municipal Pension Plan.

Who are we? Shuswap Association for Community Living is a community based, non-profit agency located in the heart of beautiful Salmon Arm, BC. SACL offers a wide variety of services including supported living, outreach, community inclusion supports, 1:1 community supports, employment, home share living and more! We are a Mandt trained organization and believe that relationships are the foundation of everything; our staff are our most valuable asset. SACL just completed our strategic planning meeting and our incredible leadership and valued staff team were noted as strengths for our agency.

What are we looking for? We are currently looking for persons who are interested in a challenging and rewarding career supporting adults with diverse abilities in their homes and community. This position requires an applicant who has a certificate/diploma in a related Human/Social Service field OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience (could be personal experience); however, we are willing to train the right individual. Valid First Aid, BC, a clear criminal record check are required as well as full COVID-19 vaccination and a Class 5 or 7 drivers license.

This is a CUPE position; CUPE is currently negotiating the collective agreement and higher compensation is expected soon, retro to April 1, 2022.

Salary: $21.63-$25.19 per hour
