The successful candidate will have knowledge and understanding of the laws and guidance that relate to elective home education, and how these are applied to fulfil the statutory duties of the local authority.
You will provide advice and guidance to families and assess the suitability of the packages of education being provided. The role will involve home visits, telephone and email contact and report writing. You will also facilitate drop-in sessions and events that enable families to access a range of information and services. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to build positive relationships with parents and carers. You will be a strong team player with a proven track record of multi-agency working.
A driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle is essential as the role requires regular travel throughout Shropshire.
