Accounting Manager

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Title: Accounting Manager
Reports To: CFO, Jane Gingrich

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for an accounting manager who will oversee the accounting department functions with a focus on ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of financial statements and reporting.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• System admin for corporate accounting system (NetSuite)
• Support data migration to NetSuite
• Prepare and maintain financial records and reports for projects
• Assist Accountant with journal entries, analyses, bank statement account reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations and assist with the monthly accounting close process
• Prepare, enter, and maintain accounting entries for standard and recurring monthly activity ensuring accuracy and consistency
• Conduct AP/AR processing and prepare aging reports
• Develop project control functions and assist program/project managers with visibility on project performance
• Arrange and facilitate monthly program/project reviews (ex: review actuals vs. budget/funding, forecast/EAC, Deliverables/QA, etc.) and support ad hoc program/project reporting
• Set up (or coordinate with corporate Contracts/Logistics) new vendors into the system and manage the vendor list (i.e., archive old vendors)
• Reconcile subcontractor invoice tracker/payments, as necessary, with Contracts and

Logistics Admins (to ensure timeliness and accuracy, and contract compliance)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

• 3-6 years of accounting experience for small – medium-sized business
• 1-2+ years of NetSuite ERP experience
• Experience as a project controller for government contractors preferred.
• Proficiency with closing the books preferred

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required
• Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization
• Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with other financial systems.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 per year
