Shoalhaven City Council is seeking a student who has completed at least one third of a Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in Accountancy (or equivalent degree) Or Bachelor of Information Technology (or related disciple) with accounting and or finance experience to fill the position of Trainee Accountant within the Finance Team.

About the role

The position provides a rare opportunity to gain valuable industry experience, whilst providing the flexibility to study.

Duties

Reporting directly to the Financial Systems Administrator, the focus of this position is to:

• To assist with the ongoing maintenance of Shoalhaven City Council’s integrated Financial System (Technology One) in partnership with the Finance department.
• To provide advice and support to financial system users within Council’s broader financial management framework.
• To provide a high level of customer service to Council’s internal and external customers

Skills & Experience

In order to be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:

• Successful completion of at least one third of either a Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in Accountancy (or equivalent) or Bachelor of Information Technology (or related discipline), or extensive experience in a similar role.
• Experience in an accounting and/or finance environment.
• Class C Driver’s Licence.
• Proof of right to work in Australia
