About the Position
We have an exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced person to fill the role of Finance Officer –
Trust & Banking.
The Shire of Ashburton has an exciting opportunity to join our Tom Price based finance team as Finance
Officer – Trust & Banking. This role is responsible for maintenance of trust accounts, credit cards and
other key banking functions, as well as assisting with a variety of other finance and administrative
functions. This role is also required to provide coverage for other finance roles within the team in the
areas of Accounts Payable and Receivable, Rates, Grants, Assets and Reconciliations as required.
Our ideal candidate will have relevant qualifications and/or previous experience in a similar role, be able
to work as part of a team and deliver timely and accurate outcomes. Previous local government
experience, while not essential, will be highly regarded.
This position offers a competitive remuneration package including Annual Ashburton Allowance,
superannuation matching and six (6) weeks’ annual leave. All terms and conditions are as per the Shire
of Ashburton Enterprise Agreement 2022.

About the Role
Role Objective / Purpose
Support the financial operations of the Shire, with primary responsibility for the Shires’ trust
and banking and reconcilitation functions.

CONDITIONS
Employment conditions are in accordance with the Shire of Ashburton Enterprise Agreement
2022 (EA).
ALLOWANCES
Ashburton, Annual Leave Travel and Health & Wellbeing allowances are applicable as per
the EA.
Ashburton Allowance $4,750 pa
Annual Leave Travel Allowance $2,000 pa
Health & Wellbeing Allowance $300 pa
Position dependent, other benefits may include provision of a mobile phone, tablet and/or
laptop, flexibility in working arrangements as well as travel, training, and personal
development opportunities.
SUPERANNUATION
Along with 10.5% Superannuation guarantee, we offer a generous Superannuation matching
scheme (up to a total of 22.5% and 25.5% after 2 years), with salary sacrifice options.
ANNUAL LEAVE
Six (6) weeks annual leave per annum with no additional leave loading applicable.
LONG SERVICE LEAVE
Thirteen (13) weeks after ten (10) years continuous Local Government service which is
transferable between Local Governments in Western Australia.
ACCOMMODATION
Under the current Accommodation Directive, all full time and part time employees can apply
for either free Shire accommodation or rent relief, pending eligibility and availability.
UNIFORM AND PPE
Corporate uniforms are provided as per the EA. Uniforms considered PPE will be provided
upon commencement and will be replaced as required.
