The Job

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Manager with proven problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills to join our growing team. This individual will assist in the monthly close process, prepare month-end journal entries, account reconciliations, and review and explain financial results. This is a newly created role due to expansion and growth! You’ll be partnering across multiple functions including Finance and Operations.

On a day-to-day basis you will be:

• Oversee key accounting functions of day-to-day accounting operations
• Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements
• Supervise and/or manage general ledger accounting functions. Review ledger detail, record adjusting journal entries, and prepare supporting schedules for GAAP-based financial statements
• Ensure data quality and accounting is conducted in accordance with GAAP
• Lead the year-end financial audit activities
• Coordinate monthly financial statement review, developing new tools and processes for continuously quality and efficiency improvements
• Investigate and resolve accounting issues. Design and implement controls for ongoing process improvements
• Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships

Preferred Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA or MBA preferred
• 5 years of accounting experience in a similar position
• Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Ability to remain flexible in a constantly changing startup environment, while demonstrating strong planning and prioritization skills
• Experience in operating systems including, but not exclusive to, Xero
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all level of an organization

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
