Accounts Assistant

Temporary – 2 months

London / Hybrid

Full Time- Monday to Friday

£25,000 – £28,000 per annum

The opportunity as a Accounts Assistant:

Due to significant existing and future growth, we are expanding at Shift and looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our London office.

This is a great opportunity to be involved with all elements of the accounting function and support the Head of Finance whilst gaining exposure to Shift and our subsidiaries.

Responsibilities included as a Accounts Assistant:

• Managing accounts payable and receivable

• Processing bank payments

• Management of the fixed asset register

• General ledger reconciliations

• Processing prepayments and accruals

• Monthly processing of recurring journals

• Bank reconciliations

• Respond to general queries from external suppliers regarding invoices and any queries from internal stakeholders within the business

• Prepare and process monthly group invoices

• Assist the Finance function with forecasting and budget preparation including cash flow and PL & BS forecasts.

• Assist in the preparation and submission of VAT returns and other filings.

• Key support to Finance function by supporting with any ad hoc duties as required

What you need to bring:

• Proven work experience as a Finance or Accounts Assistant or similar role

• Independent and proactive with a positive and “can do” attitude

• Highly numerate with great communication and people skills

• Organised with excellent attention to detail

• Comfortable working to deadlines

• Used to dealing with confidential, sensitive data and information

• Keen to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change rapidly

• Have strong Google Sheets/Excel skills and experience with Xero accounting software

• Comfortable planning leave around end of month finance activities (where possible)

• A sense of humour!
