JOB TITLE:

Financial Accountant

REPORTING TO:

Finance Manager Accounting UK & IRE

Role

Responsible for the managing and transactional processing of Fixed Assets and Claims for the EMEAI region. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, Accounting. The role requires supporting the broader UK and Ireland General Ledger team. The applicant will be flexible and tenacious, self-motivated with excellent communication skills. Accuracy and attention to detail is paramount.

Month end close

Full responsibility for the month end close of fixed assets, including running the monthly depreciation and maintaining the fixed asset register. Full responsibility of the claims file for the EMEAI region and calculating the monthly claims provision for each entity, then liasing with local Finance Managers regarding this provision followed by the upload of the journal entry.

Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations

Working in a timely manner to prepare and upload fixed assets reconciliations for balance sheet accounts for review by the finance manager. Maintenance and continuous improvement of BS accounts.

Audits

Working with auditors as required, attending to audit queries and audit information requests. This work is carried out between February and April. Preparation and submission of statutory or statistical returns monthly as required

Claims

Maintain the claims file for EMEAI region including raising credit notes on the portal for claims that need to be paid out. Liaise with sales managers on outstanding claims to ensure the claims file is kept up to date and accurate.

Support Sherwin William Sites

Responsible for several Sherwin Williams UK Ltd month end journals and the daily cash book reconciliation for Sherwin Williams Protective & Marine.

Adhoc

Provide support for any other adhoc tasks that are assigned to you

IT Skills

Preferred, but not essential, experience of Oracle 11i and R12, Smartview, Proficient Excel, Word and Outlook.

Educational Requirements

Part qualified accountant – ideally a CIMA/ACCA studier

Professional accounting experience of a minimum of 2 years.
