What’s the role?
Well Intervention / Abandonment Project Operations & Execution:
Deliver world-class design/execution performance, a performance mindset is required to support the team to achieve Wells 2025 Ambition.
Project Operations & Execution:
Assist Well Operations Team Lead and Lead Operations Engineer with Operational Excellence. Responsible for:
The execution of well intervention and abandonment operations, with integration across disciplines to ensure safe, efficient, and effective work program execution.
Significant stakeholder management to support and foster relationships with asset teams including subsurface, production, facilities, and construction.
Tracking operational cost and time metrics, after action reviews (AAR), well documentation, manage handover between Wells and Production, and develop performance improvement plans.
Managing contractor adherence to performance improvement plans associated with project delivery, GHG emissions, and Cyber Security.
Implementing Franchise delivery and acceptance in the subsea intervention space.
Supporting root cause failure analyses (RCFAs) and sharing learnings across the broader Interventions and Operations community.
Support engagements with JV co-owners where applicable and the development and analysis of competitive benchmarking to drive operational excellence.
Supporting portfolio wide technology development to improve field operations.
Supports regulatory permitting and engagements during execution.
HSSE:
Integrate HSSE in the design, planning, and execution of Operations. Actively promote HSSE and Sustainable Development (SD) in all activities and ensure compliance with business principles.
Assist with the development and implementation of HSSE and Well Control Plans, as well as assist with the creation of a global Well Control Contingency Plan.
Imbed the safety culture of Assist & Assure with rig contractor. Continue to deepen understanding amongst team and build a strong HSE culture in line with our Business Principles.
Commercial:
Understand and embed contracting strategy into selection and execution of Well intervention/Abandonment scope. Partner with contract management team (CMT) to improve commercial agreements where possible.
Track value leakage (e.g. contractual and non-productive time) and relevant service provider performance throughout execution and feedback to the CMT to support Business Performance Reviews and contract changes. Collaborate with contractors regarding performance, planning, variances, etc. as needed.
Technical
Assist with the identification, development, and implementation of new technologies and the opportunities to optimize field operations. Work to define alternative methods to the Cat-B market for Subsea Interventions.
Must be familiar with executing an Intervention/ Abandonment Program, including selection of Well Access System and Subsea Tree Interfaces for In Drilling Riser, Riserless, & Open Water Intervention Riser Applications.
Experienced in designing an Intervention Riser and Riserless Fluid Conduit System and Validate with Global Riser Analysis.
Experienced in optimizing Subsea Well Intervention Delivery Program for Workover, Abandonment, and Production Enhancement (Riser based and Riser-less).
Experienced in Control Systems for In Drilling Riser, Riserless, & Open Water Intervention Riser Systems.
Experienced in ROV Tooling necessary for Well Intervention Program.
Ability to select Well Intervention Work Unit (MODU, MSV, CAT-A, CAT-B) and Equipment/Interfaces for Riser and Riserless Programs.
What we need from you
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering field with at least five (5) years’ relevant experience
For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave to birthing mothers, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.
Additionally, employees are eligible for disability leave for up to 52 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives.
