Your part in our journey:
Reporting into the Financial Controller this role is to take ownership of the day to day running of the Financial Accounts team, production of management accounts, statutory accounts and audit.

Your part in the team:
Financial Reporting

Lead the Financial Accounts team in the preparation and timely delivery of accurate monthly

accounts for all group companies, and including:
Lead in preparation and presenting monthly exec reporting pack to Senior Finance stakeholders
Analysis of Gross Margin, all overheads, depreciation and interest, including analysis of key movements, variances to budget, and risks
Produce the monthly bad debt provision and work with the Credit Insight team to understand movements and drivers, providing analysis and insight to key stakeholders
Analysis of internal labour capitalisation and other Project costs
Prepare and reconcile supporting information for balance sheet accounts, highlighting any issues for investigation
Preparation and timely delivery of monthly management reporting packs, providing commentary on key movements, variances to budget, and risks
Assist in preparation of year end statutory accounts
Assist the annual audit procedures including preparation of information for Internal and External Auditors, and the statutory accounts
Oversee and review preparation of tax returns for VAT / P11d / PSA
Assist in preparation of regulatory reporting

Controls

Management of balance sheet and controls, including:
Oversee maintenance of Fixed Asset Register and related control areas
Supervision and review of monthly Balance Sheet schedules and reconciliations

Leadership

Day to day co-ordination and management of deliverables in the Financial Accounts Team, with clear planning of tasks and resource to ensure all deadlines and requirements are met
Support the team, leading in training and development, ensuring all staff have a clear development plan
Lead the team in delivery of process improvements, making best use of systems, and giving improved efficiency and robustness of the month end process
Ensure the Financial Accounts team, processes and reporting are ready to implement changes due to Industry and regulatory changes. To ensure the correct accounting treatment is adopted and enable clear reporting / analysis
Ensure there is a seamless link between Financial Accounts and Finance Business Partners to deliver in depth reporting and analysis to support day to day and strategic decision making

What you’ll need to help you make the best of the role

ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified with an all round skill-set of core finance skills including reporting & accounting, controls & risk management, performance management, and tax
Experience of team leadership and leading teams responsible for handling and analysing large volumes of data
Ability to influence – communicate effectively to senior managers, SLT and Exec. to resolve complex and/or sensitive issues and build consensus
A track record of delivering process improvement
