About the Role:

The Finance Advisor provides high quality support across a dynamic business covering Generation, Gas & Power Trading, and B2B. Working alongside Finance colleagues and Business stakeholders, your analytical insights will enable effective business performance management and decision support.

This will include a strong focus on the preparation, analysis, and reporting of data to provide management with timely and relevant information for decision making on various operational and strategic business matters.

Major Responsibilities & Accountabilities

• Deliver comprehensive performance analysis of the profit and loss results, including electricity retail margins, environmental retail margins, and trading activities;
• Prepare business plans and forecasts, with ongoing analysis versus actual results;
• Assist in the decision making process surrounding hedge strategies and portfolio optimisation;
• Work closely with the Controllers Teams to ensure seamless flow of information on the business activities ensuring accurate and timely accounting entries for financial and management information purposes;
• Lead and/or contribute to continuous improvement activities, with a strong focus on automation and digitalisation;
• Support key activities to maintain and enhance a robust business and financial control framework; and
• Participate in projects across other finance areas as part of the Finance Advisor pool.

About you:

• Relevant qualifications in business, economics or accounting or equivalent;
• Hands on analyst with excellent skills and experience in MS Excel and/or MS Access or SQL database applications;
• Experience in developing complex financial models;
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex concepts and recommendations in simple, succinct communication;
• Experience within energy industry is highly desirable;
• Experience with SAP desirable; and
• CA/CPA (or equivalent) qualified or near-qualified preferred.
