This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our Brisbane based finance team. The role will be responsible for assisting in providing timely and accurate reporting of Shell Energy’s financial performance and financial position and to assist with other group financial reporting tasks and projects as required.

Key responsibilities:

• Assist with production of monthly reports and other financial information as required;
• Month end recurring tasks including bank reconciliations, fixed asset register maintenance and standing journals;
• Assist with various audit queries as required;
• Assist with preparation and lodgement of various regulatory reports; and
• Assist the accounting team more broadly with project work and administration tasks.

About you:

• Experience in a similar role;
• Financial systems experience including Excel skills;
• Ability to work independently with results focus;
• Proactive at making continuous improvements;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Attention to detail;
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills; and
• Experience with SAP preferred but not essential.
