The post holder will oversee a programme of workforce development to support the needs of a future genomics workforce, taking a long-term view of the development needed for a new clinical leadership and operational model. Lead on the development and implementation of the Alliance’s learning, education training and development strategies.

Other duties will be to support the Alliance Director in the delivery of key areas within the portfolio of Learning and Development and deputise for the Alliance Director internally and externally as required.

Provide high quality Information, advice, guidance and practical support to staff in the Alliance and across the region as required.

Ensure Alliance staff are effectively engaged and informed and have a positive view of internal communications.

Produce high quality written communications materials.

Help to build and maintain a reputation for the Alliance team as high performing, responsive and able to deliver

To be part of an out of hours on-call rota if and as required.

Ensure patients and the public are at the centre of communications and engagement projects and plans, using a variety of different methods to proactively seek feedback.

Advise the Alliance team on engagement and consultation communications activity, ensuring compliance with legislation.

This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for a period of 15 months until 31/03/2024 due to the post being externally funded. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust’s legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts taking into consideration the ongoing source of the external funding and the requirement for the post to be maintained.
