About the role
An exciting opportunity within an multinational FMCG / Retail organisation currently exists in order to fill a key role in their finance team. This assistant accountants’ position will help assist in the management and communication of the companies’ accounting activities on a national scale. Initially, this role will commence as a long-term contractual role, however there is the strong potential for this to be extended / become permanent.

The responsibilities
Reporting into the Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to);

• Ownership of profit and loss and balance sheet
• Month-end operating expenditure accruals
• Processing of intercompany transactions
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Maintaining accuracy and integrity of customer accounts
• Processing of receipts from bank statements
• General ledger extracts
• Support on system ERP transition
• Ad-hoc tasks and support as required

The successful applicant will have
Ideally, you will be an accounting professional (potentially studying towards CA/CPA qualification), and will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills as this will be crucial to your success. Additionally, you will have strong Microsoft Excel skills, have had experience working in a complex & high-volume environment and possess a positive “can-do” work ethic.
