Shandex Personal Care is a member of the Shandex Group, a private Canadian business which is a supplier of Private Label Products to the major retailers in Canada and the US. Our manufacturing site, Shandex Personal Care Manufacturing is in Perth, Ontario.

The position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production equipment and other equipment as necessary. Performing all duties safely, according to preventative maintenance processes and standard SOP’s, to support in achieving the sites business goals and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist and train to become competent with abilities:
• To set up the manufacturing equipment (presses, cartoner, wrappers, flow wrapper, pumps, coders, labelers, etc.)
• Understand, start up and run the production lines;
• To identify and organize parts for the different pieces of equipment;
• To repair parts in the maintenance shop whenever necessary;
• Versed with a good working knowledge of how the equipment should run to improve line efficiency.
• Ensure all equipment is functioning in a safe manner (guard installation, etc.).
• Assist the production team in manufacturing the company’s products.
• Other duties as required, not limited to functional area.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Preferred Experience

• Evidence of strong mechanical aptitude.
• Hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and/or industrial skills.
• Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Basic computer skills.

Education

• High School Diploma
• Technical/Trade diploma or certificate an asset.

Schedule & Reporting Structure

• Working hours are shift work.
• Rotating 8 hour shifts following MAD shift structure.
• Reporting to the Shift Supervisor and Facilities Supervisor (mechanical/electrical direction).
