The Cash Application Specialist identifies and allocates all payments and ensures that all cash is posted and distributed accurately and within required time frames under conformity to the applicable internal controls and compliance requirements.

• Enters high volume of daily cash receipts for all US customer accounts
• Posts lockbox payments by recording transactions received from several lock boxes into our system
• Responsible for reconciling cash transactions, third party remittances, and credit card payments
• Downloads, posts, and reconciles electronic remittance files
• Monitors unapplied and unidentified receipts and works with business units for timely resolution
• Works with the billing and collections representatives to resolve posting problems
• Submits checks to virtual lockbox scanner as needed
• Performs the setup of new customers
• Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
• Answers inquiries about client cash applications from partners and clients
• Participates in special projects as required
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required:

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• 3-5 years of cash application experience

Preferred:

• 2+ years of Accounts Receivable experience

KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ ABILITIES

• Language Skills: English –Intermediate level proficiency required
• Mathematical Skills: Intermediate level proficiency required for analyzing
• Reasoning Skills/Abilities: Advanced level required
• Computer Skills:
• MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) – Intermediate user level proficiency required
• Oracle – Intermediate user level proficiency required for R12 Payable module
• APRO – Basic
• MERCHE – Basic
• Thorough knowledge of the Oracle accounts receivable system function and processes
• Knowledge of basic accounting and ability to organize and analyze data
• Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
• Ability to multi-task effectively
• Strong attention to detail
• Possess strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks
• Be open to change and willing to learn new skills
• Be able to follow up on pending issues and meet deadlines
• Ability to provide quality client service to both internal and external contacts, regarding non-legal matters routinely.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
• Strong interpersonal skills
