Job Summary

The Financial Team Accounting Specialist serves as a subject matter expert for the financial key result area. This position is responsible for assisting in the design, development and delivery of accounting work processes and developing training resources that will be made available to the SERVPRO® Franchise community. A key responsibility of this role is to provide Accounting Support to the franchise community. As a company employee, the individual in this role is fully expected to represent the SERVPRO® brand and the Field Operating System Division in a positive, professional manner.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Actively listen to the “voice of the customers, VOC” (i.e. Franchisees, Franchisee’s staff, Franchise Business Consultants and Specialists) and help the team evaluate, prioritize, document and routinely communicate team goals, prioritized action items and progress designed to improve the five critical outcomes: Customer Service, Revenue, Profit, Management and Staff Development.
• Provide remote and/or on-site financial key result areas assistance to franchises, as necessary, utilizing the accounting software required by SERVPRO.
• Proactively search for VOC best practices that can be incorporated into the Financial committee to improve the operating system and drive the five critical outcomes.
• Assist in defining, creating, delivering and continually refining the Financial key result area training resources including: fundamental explanations, written training guides, e-learnings, Online Learning “Clubs” and the Learning Management System (LMS) for Franchisee and staff who manage the financial work process.
• Assist in the design and creation of Financial key result area “Train-the-Trainer” training resources are delivered including: Case Studies, PowerPoint Presentations with applicable Speaker Notes, a Facilitator’s Guide, a Fact Sheet for any Facility Set-up Needs for any necessary operating system “roll-outs” or Franchise Business Consultant or Specialist assisted trainings.
• Annually assist in providing the Leadership Committee Team Lead with any Financial key result area Stages of Development Model updates including: staffing, business expenses and or capital expenditures changes resulting from Financial and key result area business process improvements the committee has made.

Additional Responsibilities

• Work to ensure that the financial team delivers excellent customer service and support to all franchise learners.
• Review the usage of accounting tools including those based on student course completions, course registrations, online courses accessed and course test scoring averages to ensure the franchise system is using the resources.
• Complete additional projects and tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Intermediate to advanced business bookkeeping and financial management skills.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of accounting software: QuickBooks Online, a plus.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office: fluent in Microsoft Word, Excel, including pivot tables, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially in conveying technical concepts to non-technical audience; able to conduct task demonstrations, develop and deliver presentations and produce written training content.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and provide validation of results.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to identify appropriate analytical approaches depending on the business need.
• Intellectual curiosity, along with excellent problem-solving skills, to be able to disaggregate issues, identify root causes and recommend solutions.
• Ability to execute/manage multiple projects simultaneously while balancing competing and changing priorities.
• Decision-making and administrative skills.
• Effective interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Strong focus on delivering excellent customer service.
• Bookkeeping or Accounting experience, preferred.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance or a related field; comparable experience or combination of both, preferred.

Normal Working Hours, Additional Working Hours and Travel Requirements

• The standard working hours for this position are Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
• This position will require longer hours on occasion due to class scheduling; some scheduling flexibility will be needed to accommodate the needs of the business.
• The average overnight travel requirement for this position is: 5% – 10% per month.
• Local driving or travel to on-the-job training experiences and professional group meetings.
