Servatron Inc Hiring for Process Engineer/Post SMT Full Time

Servatron, a Volex Company is excited to grow our Engineering team. The Processing Engineer/ Post SMT will provide process development to the Post Surface Mount areas and other various processes that compromise PCBA manufacturing.

Specific duties and responsibilities

· Support for new product introduction (NPI)

· Help determine priorities for NPI projects in the Post SMT technical group

· Ensure process capability and quality assurance

· Develop soldering and conformal coat processes for each printed circuit board (PCB) assembly by determining required board fixturing, panelization requirements, and developing process parameters.

· Provide process technical expertise to the manufacturing, engineering, and production teams

· Investigate and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies relating to equipment and processes to reduce variation, improve reliability, improve workflow, and decrease production costs.

· Be a part of a team to research, evaluate, and recommend equipment purchases

· Documents procedures and machine work instructions

· Mentor Post SMT process technicians

Equipment used

· Selective solder machines

· Conformal coat spray machines

· Wave solder

· Component prepping equipment

· Depanling machines

· Water Wash

· FAB3000 software

· CAD software

· 3D Printer

· Calipers and specialized measuring equipment

· Thermal profiling equipment

Qualifications – Minimum

· BS in Engineering 3-5 years’ experience in maintenance and troubleshooting in an electrical manufacturing environment around equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and programming.

· Process development experience

· Fixture design experience

· Aptitude for learning a variety of programming software and databases

· Self-motivation to attain and surpass set goals, adapt to change and, manage make decisions independently

· Availability of on-call status (cell phone, email, etc.)

· Proficient in verbal and written English

Qualifications – Preferred

· Using automated equipment in an Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) environment.

· Background in Lean environment.

· Background in Lean Manufacturing

· Familiarity with IPC-610 and J-Std-001

· Experience with Conformal Coating

· Previous experience with equipment specific to the Equipment Used section above

Work environment and conditions

This is an electronics manufacturing environment that may require the use of safety devices including glasses with side shields and ESD equipment/clothing. Long periods of standing or walking is required.Description

• Develop fixturing and give technical expertise for router and other types of depanling.
• Provide process technical expertise to the manufacturing, engineering, and production teams
• Investigate and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies relating to equipment and processes to reduce variation, improve reliability, improve workflow, and decrease production costs.
• Be a part of a team to research, evaluate, and recommend equipment purchases
• Documents procedures and machine work instructions
• Mentor POST SMT process technicians
• Manage multiple priorities with minimum supervision

Qualifications – Minimum

• AA degree plus 3-5 years’ experience in maintenance and troubleshooting in an electrical manufacturing environment around equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and programming.
• Process development experience
• Aptitude for learning a variety of programming software and databases
• Self-motivation to attain/surpass set goals, ability to adapt to change and, manage stress while thinking under pressure.
• Availability of on-call status (cell phone, email, etc.)
• Read, write, speak, and understand English as well as color vision

Qualifications – Preferred

• BS in Engineering with experience using automated equipment in an EMS manufacturing environment.

· Previous experience with equipment specific to the Equipment Used section above

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
