Platform Software Engineer

Primary Purpose of The Position:
We are looking for a Platform Software Engineer to join our amazing global platform team! This engineer will have a mentoring mindset and is motivated and engaged in improving the team processes and technical knowledge to excellence!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Core duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following

• Daily business: as part of the Platform team, you will develop and operate a set of centralized microservices with common functionalities such as authentication, authorization, client management and make them available for use by the product teams. As a team of above-average developers, you shape an outstanding developer experience and see yourself as a supporter of the other – globally operating – developer teams.
• Hands-on mentality: With your expertise, you will help to evolve and optimize our CI/CD pipelines for deployment in the context of a cloud-native SaaS platform. You drive architecture initiatives, communicate along decision-making processes with technical and business stakeholders.
• Teamwork: You work with experts from different technological backgrounds and countries, learn from your highly experienced colleagues and share your knowledge
• Other duties as assigned

Location: Chicago Office or Remote, North America (US & Canada)

Travel: Not required but may be needed on a very limited basis.

Qualifications:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience relating to this position.
• Experience: At least 7 years of experience in developing and operating a set of centralized microservices with common secondary business functionalities such as business logins, authentication, authorization, and more.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in Java development using stacks like Spring Boot, Quarkus or similar. An experience in development with .Net or in languages like GO and C# is a plus. Must have experience with database such as MongoDB and PostgreSQL. An experience in development and ownership of cloud-native microservices using state-of-the-art CI/CD facilities, Container-based virtualization, and Kubernetes is a must.
• Language Skills: Good communication and enthusiasm skills and excellent delivery of your ideas. Strong analytical skills and willing to come up with new and innovative ideas and solutions.

Pay: $105,000.00 per year
