Summary: AWS Instructor is responsible for assisting the delivery of high velocity, 12-week AWS restart training programs and support students in achieving career-relevant certifications.

In addition to training skills, Instructors are knowledgeable in student support, certification rates and what is required to attain them, and the importance of IT training in today’s growing IT job markets.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. The instructor is vested in supporting students to achieve certification and career goals.

2. Delivers advanced technical training classes to industry professionals advancing their careers

3. Classes include Amazon Web Services (AWS)

4. Classes will be delivered remotely via video conferencing

5. Ensures training programs are delivered to meet client needs

6. Provides feedback on the quality of training delivery and course materials.

7. Execution and instruction of IT classes in formal online (e.g., webinar) setting

8. Execution and instruction of virtual labs

9. Identifying/Carrying out training needs/analyses

10. Carrying out performance assessments to determine the skills gaps between current and desirable learner skill levels

11. Ensuring the learning environment and resources support learner needs

12. Supporting and coaching learners towards timely exam execution

13. Evaluating the effectiveness of training and learning outcomes

14. Liaising with partners (e.g., external course providers, employers, examining bodies) to fulfill the skills needs of an organization

15. Collaborating with other instructors

16. Maintaining appropriate records of learner development and resource allocation

17. Ability to align training to current IT job markets

18. Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s Degree – Computer Science or equivalent experience (preferred)
• Associate’s Degree – Computer Science or equivalent experience (required)
• Certifications will vary depending on the topics taught, but the instructor must be certified on the technology and as an instructor. For example, an AWS instructor must be an AWS Authorized Trainer and minimally be a certified Amazon Web Services Architect
• 3+ years’ experience

· AWS SysOps Administrator – Associate certification or AWS Solution Architect – Associate Certification active through the duration of instruction. AWS Professional level certifications in Solution Architect or DevOps are also accepted. No other certifications (AWS or others) will be considered equivalent and satisfy those requirements.

· One year of experience in teaching technical IT content covering at least three of the five areas mentioned below:

o Linux Operating System

o Scripting languages such as Shell and Python

o Networking and Security concepts

o Relational Databases

o DevOps Concept and Processes

· Holds current AWS credentials.

· Additional technical certification is a plus.

· Prior technical teaching experience.

· Certified Technical Trainer (CTT) certification recommended.

· Familiarity with Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)

· Ability to effectively train employees and participants.

· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple sub-contracts.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
