SENsational Tutors Ltd are looking for highly experienced and fully-qualified SEN tutors with QTS who are available to provide private tutoring sessions in person in Kent including Sevenoaks, Tonbridge, Gravesend and surrounding areas. Multiple new vacancies per day. Roles available during the day, after-school and/ or during the weekends.

You will work privately or through the local authorities on a 1:1 basis to make a real difference to children with SEN including autism, ADHD, dyslexia and other additional needs. You will be self-employed and able to work flexibly around your own availability. General rate of pay for qualified self-employed SEN tutors is from £63 – £84 per hour. Should you wish, you have the option to work full time with many clients to become a professional SEN tutor.

To become a SENsational Tutor you will need:

• QTS;
• at least 4 years’ (ideally 10+ years) experience teaching and assessing English and/or Maths and/or Science in primary and/or secondary schools;
• at least 4 years’ (ideally 10+ years) experience working with SEN special educational needs such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, ADD, PDA, dysgraphia, and global developmental delay;
• a proven record of being able to heighten pupil’s confidence, self-esteem and love of learning;
• 100% passion for education, commitment, reliability and honesty;
• to creatively apply differentiated techniques to planning and teaching;
• excellent communication, literacy and numeracy skills;
• incredible patience;
• an excellent knowledge of different learning styles and how to utilise these;
• the ability to deal with possible behaviour issues;
• the ability to work flexibly and attend meetings outside hours if necessary;
• to be a team-worker;
• a valid enhanced DBS check;
• a willingness to apply for public liability and professional indemnity insurance;
• register to work as self-employed.

You will need to:

• plan and prepare lessons in accordance to student’s individual needs;
• assess and monitor pupils’ work and feedback to parents;
• report and assess pupil behaviour;
• record students’ progress and provide grades and written feedback;
• deliver tailored teaching activities to pupils on a one-to-one basis basis;
• make sure that the pupils that you support are able to engage in learning and stay on task during the lesson or activity;
• support and assess the social and emotional development of pupils, reporting any issues as necessary;
• supervise pupil safety.
