Senior Project Manager Job at Montreal Canada Full Time

SAJO is a well-established and continuously evolving company that specializes in project management for various environments mastering areas such as design, construction, procurement and maintenance. We are currently seeking a Senior Project Manager in Public Works to join our team.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: A university degree or technical diploma in the areas of engineering, architecture, building sciences or construction technology.

• Experience: More than 5 years of project management experience in construction and long-term experience and in-depth knowledge of the public works municipality and infrastructure procurement within the public sector.

SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• The project manager is responsible for implementing all phases of the project, ensuring quality and on-time delivery. Detailed budgetary planning and monitoring of project costs are key as well as establishing solid relations and ongoing communication with clients, sub-trades, site personnel and other stakeholders. A problem-solving mindset and quick response to changing operational or client needs is of the essence. Accurate and thorough documentation is required at all phases of the project.

• The project manager must have in-depth understanding of construction procedures and project management principles and systems. The project manager must have excellent management, negotiating and leadership skills as well as excellent organizational and time-management skills. Good verbal and written communication skills in English, is needed.

• The project manager must assist in building a strong network and reputation among public procurement institutions and other strategic stakeholders such as specialty sub-contractors, architects and engineers. Building an infrastructure of sub-trade networks to support the scope of operational objectives and procurement demands – with knowledge of the public works market.

• Formulating and completing targeted Requests for Proposals (RFPs), negotiating and administering contractual agreements as well as ensuring regulatory compliance.
