Job Summary
Working with the Head of Legal and Regulatory Compliance and the wider compliance team, the Senior Manager – Legal and Regulatory Compliance NHB will play a critical lead role in protecting the newly formed National Housing Bank. You will be joining our small but award-winning team of 3 people, who are committed to making a positive change in compliance.
The team are dedicated to delivering a first-class service, taking an innovative and creative approach to maximising compliance benefits and coverage to reduce risk. We have a collaborative approach and foster an environment that promotes good individual decision making and problem solving.
This is a rare chance to shape the future of compliance in the newly formed PuFin, the National Housing Bank, a fast growing, national organisation with real social purpose. Working with key stakeholders and a professional team you will ensure efficient, comprehensive, and effective risk-based assurance to support the ambitions of the National Housing Bank.

Job Description
You’ll be comfortable using your subject matter expertise to support the Head of Legal and Regulatory Compliance with complex legal and regulatory issues, assurance, and planning activity. You will be a proficient compliance or assurance expert, with demonstratable experience in PuFins or the banking sector.

Person specification
Degree level qualification and relevant formal compliance qualification (e.g. International Compliance Association) or suitable equivalent experience.
Experience in risk, compliance, and assurance in a complicated organisation. Experience of compliance management in a rapidly changing organisation is highly desirable.
Knowledge and experience of Public Sector Financial Institutions (PuFin) or banks.
Knowledge and experience in risk-based compliance monitoring.
Understanding of how public sector organisations work (governance) and the application of laws and regulations to boards and the governance regime applicable to public sector bodies desirable.
The ability and experience to lead, develop, execute, and report on a compliance programme with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and project management skills.
Excellent presentation and public speaking ability, particularly regarding delivery of training.
