Senior Geoenvironmental Consultant – Sheffield
£40,000 – £50,000
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Geoenvironmental Consultant to join a well-established multidisciplinary consultancy in Sheffield. This role offers the chance to work within a close-knit and technically strong team, delivering a wide range of geoenvironmental and contaminated land projects across the residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure sectors.
The successful candidate will take a leading role in managing projects from initial site investigation through to remediation strategy and validation, while also supporting junior team members and contributing to business development activities.
The Role
* Managing and delivering Phase 1 Desk Studies and Phase 2 Ground Investigations
* Factual and interpretative reporting
* Contaminated land risk assessments including human health, groundwater and ground gas assessments
* Designing and overseeing remediation strategies and verification works
* Client liaison and management of project programmes and budgets
* Mentoring junior engineers and consultants
* Assisting with tendering and business development activities
* Coordinating subcontractors and supervising site works
Requirements
* Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Geotechnical Engineering, or related discipline
* Strong geoenvironmental consultancy experience within the UK market
* Experience managing contaminated land and ground investigation projects
* Good understanding of current UK contaminated land guidance and legislation
* Excellent report writing and communication skills
* Experience mentoring junior staff would be advantageous
* Full UK driving licence
