Seminole Tribe of Florida Hiring for Museum Director Job at Clewiston, FL Full Time

The incumbent in this position is responsible for the overall development, organization, management, administration and operation of the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum. The Museum Director implements long and short term goals, objectives, strategic plans and policies and procedures. The individual plans, directs, and coordinates the activities and administration of the Museum, including exhibit organization and scheduling, collections care and preservation, research, public educational programming, volunteer programming, public relations, personnel administration, grant writing and fundraising initiatives in order to preserve, promote and enhance the Seminole culture, history and traditions to all Museum’s visitors.

Bachelor’s degree in History, Anthropology, Art, Museum Science or related field is required. Advanced degree is preferred. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the management of a Museum Institution and or similarly related environment in a lead management capacity is required. Prior experience in program development, managing budgets and generating financial reports is required. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Knowledge of Seminole history and culture is highly preferred. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Knowledge of Past Perfect museum software is preferred. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
