What the role is

The Location Management Accountant is the key finance business partner for a number of our hotels in Australia. This position will work directly with the GM of the properties. The role will require accurate finance control and will certainly develop your business acumen.

What you will be doing

• Own the Accounts Payable function for your hotels, ensuring compliance to group accounting policy and accuracy of PO coding
• Prepare bank reconciliations for all accounts and credit card clearing accounts on a weekly basis
• Tight control of accruals and prepayment register ensuring that cut off procedures are followed improving the accuracy of month-end reporting
• Reconcile revenue on a daily basis monitoring tight cash control at locations
• Responsible for the coordination and presentation of the end of month reports for including budget vs actual analysis
• Preparation of month end reporting pack including reconciliation for all balance sheet accounts
• Cash flow management and control
• Complete VAT returns on a quarterly basis
• Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
• Maintain the fixed asset register
• Ensure lease and debt payments are made in accordance with contracts

What you need for the role

• 3+ years working in a Finance Team with similar responsibilities
• High school diploma required
• University or college courses in accounting preferred
• Must have strong work ethics
• Must be well organized and a self-starter
• Must be able to follow standard filing procedures
• Detail-oriented, professional attitude, reliable
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, and Word
• Possess strong organizational and time management skills
• Strong problem-solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills
• Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and corporate procedures
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner
• Ability to speak and write English fluently.
• Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
