An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to join our team as our Education Information Officer.
The postholder will operate under the direction of the School Improvement Service Manager, working with teams across Education Excellence to understand the data and information requirements to support the development, improvement, and quality of education within Sefton schools.
You will be expected to ensure that data, information, performance, and research data is available, fit for purpose and ensuring data quality and assurance. You will also be expected to undertake projects to evaluate the achievements of Education Excellence outcome targets and projects to measure and evaluate the effectiveness of data use
The successful applicant must have:
- Previous Experience of working with schools and education support services.
- Demonstrable experience of data and information management including collection, formatting, security, application, and exchange relating to all aspects of school data.
- Excellent generic IT skills associated with data and information management.
- Ability to gather and analyse written and numerical information and present it clearly.
- Ability to format, manipulate and apply analytical techniques to data and databases for the purposes of creating analysis and insight to support effective decision making.
The successful postholder must be motivated, optimistic, and enthusiastic with the ability to respond to challenge. With a personal commitment to ensure services are equally accessible and appropriate to the diverse needs of service users.
If successful, an Enhanced Criminal Record Check from the Disclosure and Barring Service will be required. Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults across the Borough. As such the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act relating to the non-disclosure of spent convictions do not apply to this job.
