Job Description

As a Security Officer Patrol Specialist in Suffolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout office areas, common spaces, parking areas, and the perimeter to help identify unusual activity and/or conditions that may require attention.
• Monitor access points and help to deter unauthorized entry by observing visitor activity, verifying credentials when required, and reporting concerns according to site procedures.
• Support day-to-day operations by preparing incident reports, providing directions and assistance, and remaining alert to security-related risks within a fast-paced professional environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
