Financial Analyst

Our client, a locally established and nationally distributed craft cidery and brewery, is looking for a Financial Analyst, to join their dedicated and passionate team. This individual will work with the sales management team to build annual sales budgets, establish full-year forecasts, and monitor company activity to provide relevant financial analysis. The work of the Financial Analyst will directly impact the decision-making process for daily operations and strategic management of the company.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of financial analysis experience with solid financial modeling skills and accounting experience. If you are goal-oriented, a quick learner, and looking for an opportunity to work within a collaborative culture, then this could be the role for you!

Financial Analyst Responsibilities:

• Work with Sales management to build sales annual budgets by item and customer and pricing/margin models and proposals for new products, customers, and general price increases
• Build production budgets including the cost and phasing of raw materials, ingredients, and packaging materials.
• Build overheads budgets in conjunction with Departmental managers.
• Build working capital and capital expenditure budgets.
• Generate the budget summary documents for management, formalize and load into Group Financial Analysis tool (Tagetik) the final document which will serve as a reference throughout the year.
• Establish quarterly full-year forecasts based on the latest updated budgets and current results and trends.
• Build weekly BI dashboards to track and communicate current-month KPIs.
• Complete and communicate to management the monthly performance reports.
• Identify key monthly variance vs budget for Pricing, Cost of Goods Sold, margins and fixed costs and build corrective action plans with management.
• Build a budget for a major, multi-year industrial project, track progress against budget and update the forecast as necessary.

Financial Analyst Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in Finance or Accounting.
• Previous financial analysis experience in a food and adult beverages environment preferred.
• Basic understanding of database and ERP system architecture.
• Advanced Excel and Power BI Skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Ability to work in a team environment to manage projects, including teammate deliverables, with leadership and diplomacy.
• Strong problem solving skills, analytical skills, creativity, logical thinking, level-headedness and resilience.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with persons of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds.
